I thought to myself, yup, I'd maybe buy one.
Sorry. I can't imagine there being enough money in limited production MC parts. For guys that want to ride Nomads. On goat trails in the wilderness. ;)

Yup, that's why I was embarrassed when I realized that my imagination got away from me :-[

Might want to check www.rokon.com The Trail-Breaker looks like it would work for serious off road excursions. :) I saw one of these things years ago, it climbs about the same as a mountain goat.

Its kind of ugly, trying to picture it with Nomad bags on it :)

The one Cabby put together looks like it would work.

I agree with Dan. When I first saw the title I thought, with the way the motor hangs down below the frame that would be a good idea, plus it would maybe make it easier to jack up. Of course I started out on dirt bikes back in the '60s & '70s in California and my heart is still there.

Well, I'm sure glad that adds up. I'd hate to think that some of you would cheat and vote twice! :-o

I know, sorry for digging up an old post but I fabricated up a skid plate for my father's nomad. I'll probably get around to doing this to mine this year. You can barely see it. It stink that these great bike have the engine sitting lower than the frame. One day he was unloading his nomad from a trailer that has a ramp/tail gate. The trailer was disconnected from the truck. when the weight got on the rear the trailers ass dropped down violently and when he moved to balance it the trailer snapped back up violently and the ramp smacked into one of the ribs with the case bolts that go through it. Broke it clear off... oil everywhere. we drained the bike, brought it to a guy who can tig aluminum, disconnected the battery and brought him the piece with the bolt in it. he tigged it back in place. No problems since. after a grind and polish they black paint you would never know we were there. The next day a short skidplate was added. Yup. 1999 nomad in burgundy.I've been surprised i havent seen more of this.
