Cold turkey is a very hard thing to do. It will be easier for you though. If you keep swearing at your boss you will not have a job, therefore no money to buy cigs with. Hang in there. good Luck.

Grrrrr....I QUIT!!!
Hang in there, man! You'll be glad you did. My son, who is 24, took up smoking in high school. He quit 2 or 3 times, he's been off the cancer sticks for 2-3 years now. The first few days are the roughest. Will power...will power!

You can do it! My wife smoked 20 years. Then 15 years ago, she quit cold turkey. Was it easy? NO!! But she kept it up and never went back.
She is SO glad she did it and so am I.

Grrrrr....I QUIT!!!
Good luck I quit smoking five years ago now if I could get off of snuff I would be doing good but I don't see that happening any time soon. I tried quiting snuff one time but that was the longest 30 minutes of my life so I started back

Grrrrr....I QUIT!!!
Cadd, unbeknownst to me at the time, I quit at 5 pm, February 7th. At 5:15 the chest pains started, by 6:15 I was in the cath lab having 4 stents inserted into my coronary arteries. Quitting is incredibly hard. The alternative is incredibly permanent.

My dad quit around the same age as you, may be a little younger, and he quit cold turkey. I am sure you will and can do the same. he did say even after 30 years of quitting, there were times after dinner he felt like a smoke, but he never did. The first month is the hardest. I thank god I never took up that habit. My mom on the other hand was practically lighting up on her death bed. They are a nasty habit.

Grrrrr....I QUIT!!!
My Dad had a heart attack and when the Dr asked if he smoked he said "I quit today!" and never smoked again! He always carried a pack of 'freedent' gum in his shirt pocket...where he used to carry his cigarettes.

Thank you all for the support. Even you Nico.
Mac, it wasn't the smoking so much as working behind a desk almost my whole life. On my best day I'll never beat you up Morro Rock. It's been 59 1/2 hours now, and it's not that bad. At least I haven't murdered anyone yet. As I said I've done this before. I just flunked about 6 months along the way. This time I'll know better. |
