Welcome from Mississippi!
All three of my 1500 Kaws sounded like, and still sound like, rock crushers! I was afraid to buy the 200 Fi Classic because of all the clicks, whirrs, knocks and rattles the engine had but I fell in love with the bike, if not the noise. I put 50,000 miles on her and only had to change the clutch spring. My current '03 sounds like the 2000 Classic and the 2002 Nomad did. Noisy, but truly great machines!

Well what a nice welcome I'm getting. Thanks all.
Sas, that map of yours is... well, full! You've been doing some riding!! I haven't fallen in love with my Nomad yet, it's only been a week and we're getting to know and get used to each other. Still I'm pleased to know mine isn't the only kawk with squawk... so to speak. Well, I just got my new plate and am headed out to mount it and add on some more miles. |

What part of Charlotte? I'm over near Ballantyne, about 100 yards from the NC/SC border.
We have a group that rides on Sundays. We meet over behind the Home Depot @ 485 and Providence in front of the bakery and Starbucks at 9:00am. Come ride with us sometime. Or just give me a call @5612103399. MT

Welcome from Alabama, The Heart of Dixie. You will have to spend roughly $200 for a Cobra FI2000R or Doebeck TFI digital fuel processor. It should eliminate the pinging or at least most of it. You will probably notice a drop in mpg's but it should at least lessen the pinging. Doing a debaffle will give it a deeper sound. Of course you could spend $400 to over $600 for after market pipes. Just a few thoughts on what can be done. I did the debaffle and added the Cobra FI2000R fuel processor.

Welcome from down here in Georgia! I checked out your music website. It appears that you have a talent there, my friend. Good stuff!
