Hey, I thought you said the install only takes 5 minutes. It took me longer to read all five of the instructions than it did to install it. Looks great Lonnie! Have to look hard to see the bracket when the seat is removed.

Now I need to go on a ride to see if I need to "adjust" the lean. I think I need it a little more upright. Anything I should (or shouldn't) do in bending the support?

Glad you got it! If you feel you need a little more upright go ahead you won't do any damage! Ride Safe!

Thanks! Nice to have something that won't break if you do a simple adjust.

These sound great, but how do they look/work on a solo setup?

Basically they mount using the single bolt that hold the driver's seat down!

But I've got a 1500, so it mounts to the passenger seat bolt, right? And it still looks good without the passenger seat installed? Thanks!

OK, I hate to be obstinant but, I have asked this on two other threads with no response. No response from the maker of the backrest concerns me a little.

There was mention on another thread of the single bolt holding the backrest bracket becoming a little loose. Someone on the "driver backrest" thread modified the bracket to a three point connection which sured up the seatback attachment to the frame of the bike. The modification seemed pretty simple and anyone who already has one of these backrest should really look at the mod, it was a great idea. Since the reinforced bracket with three connections is stronger and safer, and we are all concerned with safety, is there a possibility future brackets for the Nomad 1600 will have the three point connect?

I saw where the maker said thousands have been made with no reported problems, but if a stronger and safer bracket can be made with relative ease, why not do it???

Jarhead I didn't realize that you comments needed another response. as i stated I have sold thousands of these with no problems as is. do I feel they can be improved, absolutely but sometimes we can over engineer things and make them more difficult to build meaning increased cost. I think that the idea is good but not really necessary. Probably a dab of loctite is the cure for those having had theirs loosen up. I did look into having this done but it would entail having the bracket laser cut or waterjetted and unless I can start selling backrests at 150.00+ a pop or ordering 100's at a time I can't absorb the extra cost involved. Thanks for your comments I do appreciate any insight.

Thank you, sir.

I figured it would cost more to reinforce the bracket. The question now is would anyone be willing to pay the extra for the three point connection. And would you be willing to alter production just to satisfy a few old fussy f**ts. It would still be a lot cheaper than your competition but a $150 price ticket is not nearly as enticing as the present $100 sticker. For me stronger is better and I would pay the extra. But unless a lot of other people feel the same way I reckon we will have a single bolt connection.

Thank you again for your response.
