Rear bag to fit a Nomad backrest

I recently bought a 2008 Nomad. It is in KY & I will be flying there to ride it back to WA. I use a T-bag on my other bike, but it will not work with the fatty backrest on the Nomad. Since I don't have the bike to try bags on, I was hoping some members here might tell me what fits & works for them.

Cheers, Bill

Take the pad off the backrest put it in a saddle bag and use your T bag to get home.

Well I need to get a bag anyway, and I will be picking my wife up somewhere in MT to ride the rest of the way home. One of the reasons I decided on a Nomad was the passenger accommodations & I am pretty sure she will want the backrest on;-}. I plan on turning the new bag around & rest it on the rack after I pick her up.

Thanks, Bill

This is what I have. They custom make the attachment point so it can slip over the passenger backrest. The fit is very snug and there are a couple of straps. The bag will work with or without a luggage rack.

I used to use a T-bags Tahoe bag on mine before I went to a tourpak. You had to squish the backrest pad, but that held it pretty tight.

Thanks Vince, the T-bag I have now is an early model. I bought it in 1999, (yeah I know I keep things a long time) & it has a pocket to fit my Shadow 1100 Spirit. I wish I would of bought a universal type with velcro straps. Any other ideas out there?

I have this one. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/sa...t/TC-3515-0082 It has multiple straps plus an adjustable velcro sleave that fits around the backrest. I haven't actually used mine yet on the Nomad; If you'd like I can check to see if it fits.

I want to make sure I am clear about the bag. It is not a universal fit, it is a custom fit for the Nomad backrest the straps are not Velcro they attach with hard plastic buckles.

Thanks. I may end up going that direction. I was hoping to find something that is more universal so that I could use it with another bike. I appreciate the help.

Hey Tazman,

I checked to see if my Saddlemen bag would fit without removing the backrest pad and it wouldn't. Not even close. It will fit without the pad, which is how I'm going to have to use it, but that wouldn't work for someone like yourself riding two up.

Tazman,

I have the River Road large bike pack that fis very well on the back pad/luggage rack. I use the large velcrow strap plus one of the adjustable straps that come with it.

Go to ebay under motorcycles and type in River Road pack. I tried to post a link but it did not work
