Good morning, sun cloud and 51f. Rained hard yesterday and last night. Between that and the melting snow water is on the rise around here. A quick turn around trip to Montreal last night was not quite so quick on the return leg. Stopped for dinner on the way, that part was great, but when we hit the mountain roads it was almost impossible fog. Most times I could just make out the painted line a couple of feet in front of the truck and sometimes it was impossible to see where the road went. We were down to 5-10 miles per hour at times and I think I was cross eyed by the time we got home.

Morming 30 F and clouds. We are supposed to get a deep freeze cold snap starting tonight and it could not come soon enough. Our annual spring flooding watch has begun and a good part of my front lawn is under water due to too much rain and melting snow.

Afternoon 26* partly cloudy with a wind alert.
Last night I had a visitor, large Black Bear slapped the window next to my chair. Then it ate some of the window sill while ripping my metal bird feeder off, there was some seeds that had gotten behind and under the feeder. After that it decided to come up on the porch to the front door. I'm guessing this bear is a little over 6 feet, it hobbles on three feet, as the left front paw looks like it has been ripped off. (Leg hold trap?) I took about 30 photos, but with the bear being black and thedarkness of night, I only had a couple of photos come out.bear 4-16 a.jpg

I think I would have reached for the shotgun Gerry. You could have been having a bear roast for dinner instead of fixing a window.
