risk of exhaust swap

Was looking at swapping exhaust from one bike to another. The donor bike is in great shape aside from the usual rust on the exhaust studs. What is the risk of trying to get the exhaust off of rusty studs? Can they break? Can the strip?

I have concerns that Ill end up with one big old mess if these nuts don't spin off easily. Anything I can do to assist them? wd40?
