Hi. I'm Mike from Maine.

Hi. I'm new to the group. My name is Mike and I'm in S. Portland Maine. I'm a new (about 2 or so months) owner of a 2004 Vulcan 1500 Classic. I've put about 2,500 miles on thus far, and it's been a trip. Getting used to a heavy bike is an interesting experience. I ride all year, so if anyone near me wants to ride, please let me know.
I'm in that part of life termed "retired" although I work a few hours 5 days a week as a caregiver to an older gentleman.
I write articles, although mostly about sailing, and am looking forward to getting enough experience to do so about riding.
I was a hot rodder a thousand years ago, but haven't done real work on an engine in a long, long time. And now I even have a carburetor once again. Go figure. With a choke no less!
Clearly, I've got much to learn and will appreciate any insight anyone can give.
I'm looking forward to the yearly get together where one can put a voice and face to the words. At any rate, hello to all.
