I'm Not Saying, But....

I not saying I am an expert on after market exhaust like Vance & Hines, BUT, it seems to me that since I added some additional back pressure to my exhaust vs the V&H stock baffles has helped my machine run smoother and has more torque that the way it came to me stock from Vance & Hines. I'm thinking our bikes needed the back pressure from the goat belly/mufflers that came on the bike.
The V&H dual bagger exhaust does not really provide that and my bike really did not perform well until I added a piece of metal to slow down the straight through exhaust. Am I imagining this or am I thinking correctly? Opinions????
