1600 Nomad actual recommended tire pressures

I need to ask you Nomad Tire Guru's about the proper recommended tire pressure on stock issue tires, on a 2008 1600 Nomad.
Somewhere, I seen someone say 40 lbs front & 42 lbs rear. The manual states 32 psi front and 40 psi rear.
Now I am 168 lbs in my birthday suit. With my gear on, and a few accessories and luggage on the bike, for a average run., What would be the best recommended tire pressures..
Any help in this field would be greatly appreciated. Would like to get the most mileage I can out of these stock tires, before I go to the ME880 Metzeler tires.
Thanks
BikerJohn ???
