Exclamation Mark NC/SC Rally in the Ozarks Information

After stopping in Mountain View on his way home Ray thought it would be a good place for a rally.
Last year in Antlers we discussed combining the NorthCentral and SouthCentral rallies. So that's what we've done.

Here's the plan....

When: June 24,25,26 2014
Where: Mountain View, Arkansas
Lodging: Ozark Cabins at Dry Creek

The roads around Mountain View offer some of the best riding in Arkansas.
Push Mountain Road, Highways 5, 9, 14 and others twist and turn their way thru the Ozarks.
This is what we're going to be riding....

The Cabins are located inside the Ozark Folk Center State Park

The park address is:
1032 Park Ave.
Mountain View, AR. 72560

Plan on arriving Monday the 23rd and departing on Friday the 27.

Monday... Arrivial Day. We will have some refreshments ready at the lodge. Beer, Soft Drinks etc.

Tuesday... Go Riding! Group Ride. And we'll have suggested Rides.

Wednesday... Free Day. And the raffle.
A great opportunity to visit the Folk Center or go into Mountain View.
Check out Loco Ropes, it's in the park. Blanchard Springs Cavern is close by.
You can hang out by the pool (if construction is done). Head out on a ride. There's plenty of options.

We'll have a raffle about 6:00 PM Wednesday evening. Please help by bringing something to raffle off.
It doesn't need to be expensive or motorcycle related.

Thursday... Go Riding! Group Ride. And we'll have suggested Rides.
We'll have a group finale dinner at "The Skillet" restaurant which is located in the park.
We took a poll to decide what would be served. Catfish and Chicken was the winner.
Info on the dinner can be found here

Friday... Head Home.

About the Lodging...
We have all 60 cabins available for the rally.
They will accommodate 4 adults. All are non-smoking. Pets are not allowed
The price is $70.00 + $8.05 tax per night based on single or double occupancy.
Additional charge of $12 will be added for each extra guest 13 years or older.
No more than 4 guests per cabin.
There are two types of rooms, regular and deluxe.
Both are the same price. Here are pictures of the cabins.

Reservations...
Call 800-264-3655 to make reservations. You must have a credit card.
Tell them you are with the VBA and use this reference # 1436259
The last day rooms will be held for the VBA is May 24, 2014
Check-In time is 4:00 pm and Check-Out is 11:00 AM.
But if the room is ready by 1:00 you will be able to Check-In then.
If we fill all the rooms at the state park they will help us find more lodging.

Cancellation Policy...
Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival date.
Cancellations made less than 48 hours to arrival will be charged one nights rent.

Ozark Folk Center...
The park is a great place. They have offered a discount on tickets to everyone attending the rally.
Upon arrival you can purchase a ticket for $14.50 per person. It's good for one days admission into the Crafts Village.
There you can see blacksmiths, knife makers, wood carvers and other types of artisans.
That ticket also get's you one days admission to the concert at the Folk Center.

And...
As you can tell the people at the park have been more than helpful.
Many of the guys at the park also ride. They will a great source for information about the area.
Hopefully they can find time to go riding with us.
If you are planning to attend then please make your reservations as soon as possible.
Hopefully they will see that we are serious about our rally and will have a great turnout.

Invited?...
If you can read this then your invited. We would like to see VBA members from all regions attend.
We'd also like to see riders from other Kawasaki groups as well.
Let them see what the VBA is all about. And hopefully in the process not only have some new members but also some new friends.

Just So You Know...
Mountain View is in a "Dry County". The nearest liquor store is about 17 miles. Anglers restaurant is near by and does serve alcohol.
But.... We can have alcohol in and around the cabins. You just can't buy it there.

I've tried to provide as much information as possible. But if you have any questions just ask.

Hope To See You There!!
