Garage Door Opener

I was getting tired of getting on and off the bike just to punch in the code on the keypad, so I scooted over to Sears and bought a nice little opener button. I synced it to the garage door motor and put a nice little patch of hook and loop material on the back. I had already scouted out the perfect spot....on the inside of the windshield bracketry on the right metal upright.

Before pushing it into place...I double checked and made sure the thing worked....and it did. I pushed it into it's new home, hit the button again and.....NOTHIN'. WTF....??? I tried again with no luck. I pulled it off the Velcro and it worked great. I then moved it around and tried several locations. I found that anytime it was against metal it would not work.....against the plexiglas or plastic it worked fine.

I ended up moving it to the inside center of the windscreen just under the metal cross piece behind the front Vulcan Logo. It's fine there....but now I have this extra piece of hook material on the metal part.... :(" title="" border="0"/>. I guess the metal affects the signal.... :-/.
