The lovely Ann and I are planning a biking getaway for the end of the April. Leave home on the 30's, come back on May 2nd. Since we're also going to have the 13yr old with us (his first long bike trip), a little extra planning is in order.

We've been trying to decide between camping/cabin or booking a lodge or resort somewhere. To make it even more confusing, we've got two areas in mind: The Hill Country or Arkansas, near Mena perhaps.

Reaching out for recommendations that are kid-friendly, meaning Ann and I can take off on our bike for a solo ride and let the kid do his own thing back at camp (swimming/kayaking, whatever). I've scoured the web for the last two days and frankly, it's major information-overload. I went to bed last night swimming with possibilities, but none hit the spot.

Any ideas?
