Fun Meter!
I was having a conversation with a guy a few days ago and the amount of miles I put on the bike came up. I was saying how I try to ride at least 10,000 miles every season, and he was asking why a set number goal was important to me. Citing reasons such as decreased resale value, increased maintenance, etc. as downsides. I kind of moved on to a different topic and never really answered his question fully for whatever reason. Later on I started thinking about it more and more, why is miles on the bike so important to me :-/ As long as I get to ride, that's what's important right? Well, I went out for a ride to do some thinking
![]() After a few miles I had an answer. To me the odometer is a Fun Meter! I can look at it and think back to each and every mile ridden and all the good times associated with them. Some guys have a certain number of weekends they want to go fishing. I have a certain amount of fun (miles) I want to have each year! May seem kinda silly, but I just thought it was an interesting enough thought to share with ya'll :) Login or Register to Remove Ads |
