Passenger Floorboard with Pegs
Kuryakyn used to sell the Transformers for the 1500 Nomad. I had a pair on my 02, but they stopped making them. I don't think they sold enough to justify the cost. They were Goldwing Transformers that they shipped with an adapter for the Nomad. The Goldwing boards have tabs on the ends that fit on the outside edges of the mounting bracket on the bike. The Nomad had the opposite setup where the bike had the tabs and the pin went through mostly the board. The adapter they shipped went in the gap between the tabs on the Transformer boards. It was made of steel and actually worked best if you bolted it to the board. It made the boards heavy, and after a while the steel wore down the numbs on the Nomad alluminum mounting brackets that kept them from falling down. They would fall down when you made a turn. I ended up using velcro straps to keep them up. The chrome was also crap on the adapters.
But, my wife did like them. The only problem was that she had to put them down in traffic because her feet would hit my legs and would cause me to not get my feet planted squarely on the ground. I took them off when I traded my Nomad in on an 05 Wing. I just had to order the adapter for the Wing and I was in business. I left them on the Wing when I sold it, so no chance of trying them on my 08 Nomad. Login or Register to Remove Ads |
