Premeux Tour Pack Install

Well I finally got it... . After several discussions with Serge at Premeux....I ordered my Tour Pack awhile back. It only took about two weeks from the time I ordered it to the time I received it.

Like Serge said....it was about a 20 minute install. Remove the saddlebags, then remove the four bolts holding the grab rails/backrest and pull that assembly off. Then re-install the bolts with the chrome mounting bracket in place. During this process, I did have to remove some little reflectors from the sides of the license plate holder and cut one off the top for the mounting bracket to fit over it cleanly.

The Tour Pack came with the luggage rack installed and four studs protruding from the bottom including nuts, so you just remove the nuts, place it on the mounting rack and re-tighten the nuts....VOILA.... !

The pinstriping scheme is right on the money...however...while the neutron silver is spot on, the blue on the Tour Pack is just a tad bit darker than the blue on the bike, but IMO not enough to really bitch about. It's possible that my original paint may have faded just a tad as it saw some serious sunlight this past summer, but that's just a guess....

Here are a series of photos...but I was losing my daylight when I took them so they are not as in focus as they could be. If anyone wishes...PM me and I will take some better ones when I have more daylight.

With the exchange rate in our favor again by about 20%....the total cost was about $1500.00 US...and that included about $150.00 for shipping! It is just like a HD Tour Pack and I'm not sure if they buy them unpainted from HD, or just use a mold similar. Either way it is very nice.

The Tour Pack itself came in one box....and the chrome mounting bracket came in another. I will be adding an LED lightbar to the rear of the Tour Pack in the near future...and also plan to remove the Premeux Logo and replace it with the Vulcan "V" instead.

All said....I am really pleased with the service and quality. Serge seems like a stand-up guy. Only thing left to do now is load it up for a long trip! Can anyone say....CUSTER.... !!!

BTW....The Missus gives it a two thumbs up as well....and we all know that if she ain't happy....nobody is happy.... ;)
