Ouch!

What happens when an elderly motorist pulls out in front of a motorcycle:

Posted from another site, not sure of source:

So there was a poker run on Sat. Not sure of the name but this guy was the tail end of the poker run. So some approx 80 year old lady decides to turn out in front of this guy even though she had seen the rest of the group pass in front of her. Crash.

So as you might guess the guy was not wearing a helmet, many Harley riding poker run type of people don't. Fortunately he did not have any head injuries but he did break his femur, pelvis, and leg. He was conscious when he left the accident and was operated on in emergency room and is now recovering.

Moral of the story, just because you are in a group, does not mean you are safe practice 2 second rule and still assume drivers do not see you or anyone in the group. Even if you wear a helmet, multiple large broken bones are not fun and the clots that can develop from them can kill you as they did a friend who raced motocross, broke his femur, 3 weeks later a blood clot let loose and killed him. These pictures were taken by a rider where I work while he was working in his front yard.
