New Guy

Greetings and thanks for allowing me into the club! After a long hiatus from riding, the recent gas crunch got me back into it (with the wife's blessing no less)! My previous bikes were a 1969 H-D Sportster and a 1997 Vulcan 800 Classic. Both were nice bikes and fun to ride, but neither had the torque or power for sustained, longer cruises and two-up riding.

Looking for a cruiser was a fun research project (I read 300+ reviews at least) and ultimately led me to the 1600 Nomad. Numerous things came from my research project. One was that I found KawaNow…and two, I learned what mods I was going to want well before I ever even bought the bike. In early July I purchased a new 2008 Silver/Blue Nomad and I love it! I currently have about 1200k on her and did the first service at 550 miles.

As for my break in period…lets just say I rode it like I stole it right from the get-go! I set the piston rings solidly and ran her like the bike she is meant to be. I'm pretty sure she liked it too…!!

Not to bore anyone with the details, but I know that mods are a big story here. I have a ways to go, but I think I am off to a great start. I know this simply from the wife's constant chirping about the $$ I have been spending...lol.

Installed:
Vance and Hines Bagger Duals exhaust (sounds AWESOME btw….)
Phatrisers II handlebar risers from Scootworks (ya gotta get these if ya don't have'em…)
Kuryakyn Longhorn Offset Dually ISO Pegs
Edmonds Lowers
Saddlebag Chaps from PHCustoms
Engine Guard Chaps from Airlite
Nomad Fender Emblems from Cruiser-Customizing
Cobra Luggage Rack
Kuryakyn Grantour Bag from Motorcycle-Luggage.Com (Great bag, especially as a backrest!)

Waiting for Delivery:
BrakeAway Cruise Control (Throttle Lock actually…)
Tank Bib w/Pocket and Concho from Frank's Leather Products

Short Wish List:
Chrome Saddlebag Guard Rails
Chrome Fender Tips
Chrome Trim Molding for Fenders

2008 Christmas List:
Mustang Seat w/Backrest

Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and hope you will be tolerant of my stupid questions on the rare occasions that I ask one. If any of you get to the great Northwest…look me up for a scoot! I can point you to some great rides here in Washington!
