Simple oil change right? So simple a caveman could do it! Sometime I amaze myself ::). I changed the oil using the drain with the screen, removed it, no problem. Drained the oil, replaced everything, no problem (so I thought). New Shell Rotella T6 synthetic 5w-40 and Bosch 3300 filter, fired it up toped it off, all good. Cleaned and put everything away. Came in the house had supper. Then I sat down with my computer and gadgets fix-it page was still up from when I checked to see where the drain plug was located. That's when I noticed I had put the screen back in backwards .
Went back outdoors got the pan for draining the oil cleaned it up so it looked new again (no way was I wasting 3+ quarts of oil at $6+). Removed the drain plug again (stopped to congratulate myself), swapped the screen end for end, after I straightened it out. In case you're wondering the big end go's in first :). It's a good thing they're soft. It's all back together ....... again.
On the plus side, tomorrow will be in the mid 60's so I'll go for my first ride this year
