Seafoam question
Today i decided to clean the throttle body with the seafoam spray. Didnt look to bad but thought would not hurt to do anyway. Had bike running, spray a little in and so forth for about a 1/4 can. Shut bike off and sprayed a little more in and scrubbed to plates and throat and left soak for about 10 mins. restated and left run until no smoke. The bike idled higher then before, I ended up turning idle screw back a good full turn to bring idle back to where is was before, is this normal after doing this?

I do the exactly the same thing every spring . I get the same results with my idle . Now I just clean my throttle body more often and never have to mess with the idle setting .
It wouldn't hurt to throw in 5oz of sea foam in the fuel tank and head out for a good ride also . Clean all that crud outta the internals . I do it every 5th tank or so . |

Well for shits and giggles i pulled the baffles! Holy shit what a sound! Went for a short ride and noticed every now and then will backfire on decel. I decided since the wrap on my baffles was looking pretty bad (at least that is what i kept telling myself while i was unwrapping the wrap) i decided to put the bare baffles back in to stop the back fire issue. Lost a lot of sound but still better then with wrap on them. What a shame, sounded so nice with the straight pipes. Oh well

Your experience is very simar to my old 2005 Vulcan 2000. Every springI used to do the same. Clean the throttle body and use seafoam in tank for the first long ride of the season. That bike went 72,000 miles before needing any serious repairs. My next couple of bikes I started using ethanol fuel treatment from Lucas on every other fillup and that seemed to keep things running smooth with no need for anything but a quick spray of the throttle body to clean.

When I first bought my 2007 Nomad it came with two years' free maintenance or something like that, so I would take it to the dealer for oil changes, etc. The mechanic would come out and tell me what he did, and he would usually say "it was idling a little low, so I bumped it up for you". After the free maintenance ran out and I started servicing it myself, I decided to clean the throttle body. I gave it a good scrubbing, etc, etc, and took it out for a ride. I got to the end of my street, and it was idling so high it was trying to move even with the clutch disengaged. My guess was it was idling about 1800 RPM. I think the dealership mechanic didn't know about cleaning the throttle body. I made it a practice after that to scrub the throttle body whenever I changed oil.

I need a volunteer to go to New York and check on TC. I think he’s been kidnapped and someone’s taken over his account.
