Somebody Stop Me! Bling Fever!

First you get the ISO grips = :)
Then you notice they don't go with the shift levers and brake pedal anymore = :(
So you get the Kuryakyn shift levers. = :)
Then you notice the engine area is looking kind of bland. = :(
So you find the accessory page for the Nomad, and find engine mount covers. = :)
As you're looking around, you spot the chrome water pump cover (shh, the wife almost heard your delighted squeal) = :)
Then you realize that with some sanding, you could use the old chromed grip ends as engine mount covers and think to yourself, "I just saved some money!".. and being justified in your frugality, you become temporarily insane... you buy the chrome water pump cover, chrome banjo bolt covers, chrome switch covers, chrome radiator cover, tank bib (with chrome studs), chrome side covers and riser bolt covers...

You are euphoric....

But right before you click, "Confirm my order!", your wife walks in and sees the computer monitor. In the blink of an eye, she has you on the floor, medication in hand, forcing your mouth open while simultaneously reaching for the computer's power plug.

Then she slaps you with a wet salmon for good measure, and sends you to your room (garage). The coming-down is tremendous, and you end up on the floor in fetal position, wondering where the last 6 hours went.

Don't be like Netnorske... it's for your own good!

The cure is to buy a BMW. They are devoid of chrome, but they will set you back what all the chrome and goodies cost, so it is a wash. Plus you'll have to learn German. :)

Yes, run with it! It cures itself eventually. You get to a point where you think you may add something else, but then you feel like you may be crossing a line of taste.

Thats what happened to me... I still think about the chrome side covers tho. And if anyone knows about a chrome neck cover that I can make work on my '03, I'll be making at least that one more change!

I'm ordering the chrome sides right now... I'm so weak.

Don't feel alone. I recently ordered and installed some chrome side rails for the saddlebags. Not a cheap purchase, but damn they do look good !

I have however slowed down my habit....only because I have taken to wearing a small patch just under my ridings chaps. It helps to alleviate the craving for more chrome.... ;). Sensitivity classes may help too....you know....for those times when the wife is clamoring for a new dishwasher or stove, or your daughter needs a new dress for the prom and you must weigh those issues against your desire for new $$bling$$.

It's a slippery slope my friends....but we are all here to help. At the very least we can help you justify almost any purchase you deem necessary. Im mean come on....what are friends for.... ;) !

28. Amber 35W Sealed Beam Lamps for the auxilliary lights.

and last but certainly not least....

29. Custom made "Ultimate Baffles" for the V&H pipes.... ;) !

I think there is a 12-step program, but first you must admit you have a problem.... ;)! Good luck...!!

The 12 step program doesn't work, no way no how, But your 29 step program is a good start. I've got a bucket list that seems to get longer no matter how many I do. Our creative imagination is the real issue.
Good luck controlling that.
