I've noticed that if the bike sits for a day or two when I put it in gear it acts like the clutch isn't fully disengaged and it jumps. It only happens once. Got less than 5000 miles on it so it's headed for the dealer.

Belive it or not oldbiker, that's normal, (according to my stealership). I find that if you work the clutch in neutral a couple of times (with engine running) and rock it back-and-forth, it'll go right into gear like it nornally does. BTW welcome back, hope you had a good trip.

VulcanE, Had a great trip. We hit eight states, 2330 miles. Had to outrun the storms that came through NE Arkansas. We were up in Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks when we got the warnings. When we hit the farmlands of SE Missouri we had a 40 MPH crosswind and dust storms. Man what fun to ride in. The best MPG was 43.75, only got 31 in the winds.

Yup. Virtually all motorcycles do this when cold. At least all the bikes I've ever owned. The Nomad does it harder because the rotating parts are bigger and the clutch is bigger. That's all.

Mine too OB. the plates form a version of hydraulic stick. Like two panes of wet glass pushed together. Once the air is removed the vacuum created causes this lurch on occasion. Pump the lever a few times while giving the motor a few revs and snick it into gear.
