what's in your saddlebags?

When I traded in my Valkyrie Standard for my 2000 Nomad on Friday I had to transfer over all my stuff from the leather saddlebags. Here is what I found in mine; 2 - leather jackets, a pair of chaps, 2 - leather ball caps, extra pair of leather gloves, 6 - assorted bungie cords, a wad of paper towels, pair of goggles with scratched tinted lens, pair of yellow lens glasses in soft case, 6 - dollar coins (the big ones), ziplock bag with maps of the general New England area, registration, insurance card and inspection certificate, a pair of never mounted deer whistles, an individually wrapped peppermint lifesaver (yum), a key to a '97 Yamaha Royal Star that I traded in towards my 2000 Valkyrie, a keyring that my Valkyrie key originally came on when I got it, a black and white ball cap and a pair of clear safety glasses with diopter inset (my nightime eyewear). BTW, what was in both my Valkyrie's saddlebags fit in one of my Nomad's saddlebags. What's in your saddlebags?

Rain suit, first aid kit, small 1/4" drive socket set, fuses, phillips& slot screw drivers, cleaning kit, camera, helmet face shield for rainy day travells, registration, cell charger, hat, and extra pair of gloves. Still have room for more, as that is just the left bag. Carry clothes in the right one using a bag insert for that stuff. Have the trunk for computer and other goodies. I do like the little mesh bag on the left saddlebag. Has reg. and insurance card, paper, pen.

One saddlebag right now have a pair of gloves, leather jacket, chaps, a long shelve shirt.

The other one my vent jacket.

Also have little bags in front of the saddlebags with kickstand rest in one of them.

Have a tank bag, with maps, gloves, pens, paper, electrical tape, baseball cap. I also carry the camera and cell phone there when riding.

Bag on the back on the luggage rack. If rain is in the forecast carry the rain suits in it. Otherwise it's empty.

Also our motorcycles are our main transportation. We don't have a car. So we use the motorcycles to go grocery shopping and another other shopping. Have carried lots of things on the rack on the back of the Nomad.

what's in your saddlebags?

Registration/insurance papers; the standard "Kawi" pamphlets that came with the bike (owner's manual, etc); electrostatic towel; DARK "aren't I a bitchin biker" sunglasses; and a zippered toiletrie bag with tools: 3/8" ratchet drive, extension, metric sockets, bungies, zip ties and screwdrivers. LOTS of room to spare...

Cheers,
Daryl

Not to get technical, but baklava is:
a Near Eastern pastry made of many layers of paper-thin dough with a filling of ground nuts, baked and then drenched in a syrup of honey and sometimes rosewater.
balaclava is:
a close-fitting, knitted cap that covers the head, neck, and tops of the shoulders, worn esp. by mountain climbers, soldiers, skiers, etc.

It seems that we have a few members that are carrying around jewish deserts in their saddle bags; not necessarily a bad thing. :-)
