So the 28psi Kawi recommends for the Vaquero front is way off and I should get up to at least 40? Maybe that's why she's so heavy in the turns.

It is interesting that the sport bike crown seems to swear by the Kawasaki manual pressures, but the cruiser folks seem to want to increase the manual pressures by quite a bit.

I saw the low pressure in the manual and decided to try it. All I have to say is don't. I'm back at 41 like the tire says. Turns were mushy and required a lot more effort. Since I've never had an issue with traction on the front I say kawasaki is FOS. Pump up the pressure and ride.

The biggest Issue I'v run into with lower pressures is Front end "Steering-Snatch"...and rear end "Squirm" (the front "snatch" can be strong enough to jerk the handle bars out of your grip..if your not paying attention..tar strip's, and crack's in the macadam..etc)
I run 42+ in the front..and 45 in the rear @ "normal solo weights"...I go to 50psi in the rear when traveling with a passenger or -big pack ! |

Somebody found an old thread.
I ran the Nomads 40/40, sometimes 40/42; the Ultra I run 40/38. Tire wear has been more uniform across the rear tire at the lower pressure.

I had 40f 41r and after riding about 100 miles on a warm 80 degree+ day checked them. Was 40f 48r. Have read that pressure should increase about 3-4lbs when hot. If it increases more, add pressure, not exceeding tire max, if less, then decrease pressure. Lowered front to 37lbs and noticed a couple times the "steering snatch" mentioned above, so will most likely increase front back up to 40, and will raise rear to about 45 cold. I mostly ride 2up.
