Pipe performance question
Hey all.
A question for those who have installed after market pipes. Did you notice that you had slight backfiring in the exhaust pipes with your free flowing exhaust than with your stock pipes? I realize why it's happening, just wondering if any modifications have to be done to eliminate it or what? I took my ride out for the first time to check out the exhaust and heard the very slight popping during deceleration. If left unchecked and the popping was severe, this can quickly blue your pipes where viewed. Do you worry about it and live with it , or do you address it early? Thanks, voyager ![]()

Pipe performance question
Take off your right side air injector cover and look inside. there is a tube coming in from the outside with a 1/2 inch opening at about the 2 o'clock position ending behind the right side fast idle soleniod. Plug it with a marble and this will stop the air injection from entering the exhaust causing the backfiring your experiencing.

Pipe performance question
My Classic (1600) with Vance & Hines, a Kury air kit, and PCIII, I had a ton of popping. Tried the marble, but I don't really know if I put it in the right tube as the pop continued. I had it Dyno-tuned, and no pop for over a year. I'd say do this for maximum performance.
