Tired of searching. :(
Gear Oil Weight. What works? Recommendations.
I bought 75W-90.

Service manual calls for G-L5 hypoid Sae 80 below 5c Sae 90 above 5c, so the weight you bought should be fine. The api service rating is G-L5.

Is this the "final drive" gear oil that you're talking about? I need to change mine also and am not sure what to use. I live in Oklahoma, so hot summers, mild/cold winters. Would 75-90 work for me? I'm dumb when it comes to gear oil. :(

BTW, run Rotella T6 Synthetic for motor oil.

I changed it to syn, 75/90 Mobil 1, because I changed to the T6 for my oil, figured Id keep it all synthetic.

The 75- 90 should be fine MO. I use Amsoil 80w-90 synthetic simply because someone gave me a whole case of the stuff free. I'll probably be too old to ride before I run out of my supply of gear oil.

There's a idea although I'm sure most of my neighbors would have no idea what to do with gear oil. Friends?, I think I could find one or two!

I use the Mobil 1 75W-90 synthetic in the final drive. Change it at each engine oil change.
