Im not sure how short you can go to keep stock cables But 13" needs new cables
A few here are using the 1700 Nomad./Voyager bars w/stock cables..I may be going that route,, I assume in Apes maybe 10" as tops? Ill wait till I here all the answers :)

I have a friend that has a heritage handlebar on his nomad and it looks good on the bike. I dont think he had to replace the cables. I will ask the next time I see him.

I've got stock bars and Phat II risers.
If I were to disconnect and reroute the hoses I might could use bars with a little more pullback. My plan for this winter is to install bars with more pullback and install new hoses. I think the stock bars are 14" pull back and 8" rise. I've seen 16 1/2" / 8" advertised. I'd like to sit comfortable with stock risers so I can install a fairing with radio. If you make a change I'd like to hear about it. I'm still planing and searching. Mike |

Jim I thought you used new cables? CRS strikes again :) So I should be safe with 10" apes... The 1700 bars are 125$ + 10" apes 75$ + or -
