Another Starting Question
hey guys,
i just noticed that if i start the bike (08 nomad 1600) then shut it off using the kill switch (was testing the operation) and then tried to restart without turning the key off then back on the bike smelled "flooded" and gave me a hard time starting, even if i waited for the FI light to come back on. But when i turned the key off then back on and waited for FI light to come on it started up first time everytime...did this a bunch of times and same results. wasn't sure if this is some kind of safety feature or if anyone has heard of it? thanks. as a side note the bike is running fantastic, just added some seafoam today. i think i need a new rear tire almost 10,000 miles original tire (down to wear line). i will replace it next spring not sure with what yet. anyways lots of fun i think i will keep this bike a while :)

That isn't the best idea. With the key switch part way OFF not locked, and then turned on the system will decide if it wants fuel or not, as well as pressure up the injectors and their lines.
You Kill switch method does not power up the fuel pump if you are doing what I think you are doing.

Another Starting Question
I'm not sure if I have ever used the kill switch. Someone flipped it for me when I was parked in a parking lot. Soon as it didn't start that was the first thing I looked at. Flipped it back on and it fired right up.

I use the kill switch a lot, and leave it off parking. I believe that to use it cleans the contacts inside it, and like most things automotive it is use it or loose it.
There is similar window switches in my cage, and they are a constant battle in a 1985 vintage cage I don't use much.

Another Starting Question
yeah i wired some rear led lights so i was just checking all my lights/switches. so basically it is easily reproduced when i use the kill switch but leave the key on (never touch the key) and try to start it again it either won't start or it takes several tries. oh well
