Less than $1000.... Man, you're just getting started.

Welcome to the world of modifying. FYI, once you get started it's difficult to stop. Several of us have $3-$5K worth of accessories on our bikes. It's all part of the fun of making it yours.

Congrats on getting the new bike.
As far as mods go,wait until you start doing performance mods, then you get into the expensive stuff. I would suggest that you ask around here for things that you want for your Nomad.Chances are, someone has done it and knows the best place to get the things you want at the best price. I have gotten direction to some really good deals from members.

Yeah, I agree. It's just the tip of the iceberg. IOW, you've got a good start. So far that's about as far as I've gotten with mine. I put on a Mustang seat, McHitch trailer hitch, J&M JMCB2003 cb radio, my XM radio and a windshield bag that I got for free when I bought the bike. I see a set of heated handgrips and possibly some desert dogs in the fairly near future, as well as the chrome bottom covers for the passenger footboards, plus a luggage rack. So far, I do NOT see a Power Commander and/or pipes for my Nomad, but I just may install a K&N air filter.

Thanks heath3n for consideration of using my custom rack on your Nomad, I am honored and appreciate the opportunity to help you customize your ride. Here's a look for other readers.

That's one of the best looking luggage racks I've seen yet!

Oh goodie, a new one to corrupt and stimulate the Nomad accessory market! LOL.

You will find many, probably more than you thought possible, modifications that will intrigue you and get your imagination going. I have had mine now for a little over 2 years and I still have stuff that I want to add or change.

I got my new Nomad exactly one year ago today and as everyone around here knows I kept preaching on not changing out anything or adding anything to mine. Well, about 2 grand later, (and that didn't include the more costly stuff like seats or pipes), I changed my tune somewhere along the way. I heard someone say it best that you have to make it yours by personalizing it. Haven't done any performance mods yet, but who knows, that might be coming next real soon. You'll love your Nomad, though. Here's hoping for a long-lasting friendship with you and your bike. Happy ridin'! Jamie

Also consider Stebel Nautilus air horn and Grasshopper driver backrest. I got the Airlite Engine Chaps too. Nice.

One other thing that did not show up on my list, but will be the first thing I put on my bike is a lightbar. I do lots of night riding, (shift work) so a lightbar is pretty much a must have.

Maybe I missed something, but does the bike have a stock seat? If so, and you don't find it comfortable, get an aftermarket seat on your list. All the chrome in the world isn't going to help you if you can't stand to ride it. A Mustang seat was the first mod I did when I bought my '07. I couldn't stand the stock seat for more than about 50 miles.
