Kewl story CJ!! I get some good compliments all the time also, but at the same time, I have no problem GIVING good compliments either!! I think as far as HD guys go, it's the old rule of thumb.... You Get What You Give!! If you show some respect and admiration for a nice bike, I've always had them do the same!!

My wife works at a secondary college as a deaf interperater, you shuld see the kids come running when I turn up on the bike ( the cool kids walk) and boy do some of the deaf kids know how to sign when they like something!. Its a great feeling when you get honest praise not only for a great bike but like the bikes on these pages respect for a lot of love and care taken by all.

You know, I think one of my favorite compliments comes from the kids because they have no clue what the bike is but they love the look and sound of mine. One of my neighbor's kids who is 12 (and a good kid) always runs up with a big grin asking for a ride. I saw him with his friends one day and he waved so I stopped to talk to him and I'm pretty sure he was the "cool kid" that day because he knew the guy on the big bad black bike in the neighborhood.

Oh, and I guess the questions and compliments from the young hotties don't hurt either.

I think she wanted you Cadd! ;)

I love it when the kids motion for me to rev the engine! They get their money's worth from my semi debaffled Scoot special V&H's!

BD ignores them! ;)

I gotta say up around my way the HD riders never gave me Sh--t, only compliments. I even got my bike inspected at a Harley repair shop. Not a dealer. He looked at it up and down you can tell there was no B.S. involved.
You're right though the old HD guys are more tolerant. Go figure.

...it's because they "get it" and the younger ones don't, at least not yet.

Thanks for noticing. I was getting tired of the old ones. Changed my weather bar, too.

To the point - the younger HD owners didn't just buy a motorcycle, they bought a lifestyle. To some degree, we all do. They have been spoon fed the propaganda that HD is the greatest machine that man ever devised and anything else is inferior. It's how they rationalize paying $10,000 more for something than it's worth. I know guys that would leave their Harleys in a ditch if they found something better. We just found it first.

A compliment!

I was real proud of my Nad last Sunday. The wife and I had started up to Cloudland Canyon, and had stopped for a drink. When We came out, there were four Harley FLHX's (Streetglide) that had parked near mine, and all of them were standing around looking at it. I over heard one say "what is it" and another said "it's a Vulcan"! I spoke up and said my forman at work (who is a harley man) "calles it a Har-la-saki". They all complimented my bike, and one even said that he wished he would have known about the Nomads before he had spent $12,000 more for his Streetglide (which by the way, I think is Harley's sharpest bike). They were all around 35 or less in age, and had their the wives with them, and were really pleasant to talk with, and since we were all going to the same place, we rode together, and by the time we turned into the park road, we had accumlated around 25 to 30 bikes altogether, going to the same place. Really cool!!, but no other Nomads.
