NICE! Chucksters Air Intake System
I got from Chuckster the Dual Plate System (using Stock "Dog Bowl" Cover) and a K &N filter # E-3402 off Ebay.
I decided to do the Chuckster stock look intake mod today and when I was done I did not like the look. ??? to big :-/ stuck out to far :( and I could not get the base plate to install flush as the elbow and crank case vent tube hit the plastic crossover tube :'( (Just my opinion Chuckster nothing wrong with your parts) So I started all over and removed everything on both sides and the crossover tube. And this is what I came up with ![]() Spent an hour sanding and polishing Chucksters cover plate, not real shiny yet as I only had 600 grit sandpaper ![]() I used silicone and glued the K&N to the cover plate to keep it centered ![]() Not sure if I will keep this nekkid ??? What do you think Chuckster, maybe you could offer the cover plates chromed or polished to close to chrome look? I like the spartan look, it tucks in nicely and there is lots of clearance for my leg. With the chrome dog bowl you have to raise the back of the fuel tank with the spacers Chuckster provides with his kit and it stuck out just a little more than stock. Over all I am pleased with Chucksters dual plate kit even if I didn't follow his instructions to the letter ![]()

You need something like this for your left side (look between the jugs, where the crossover tube used to be):

Leave it 'nekkid'.
I used a Mr Gasket 6 1/2 chrome air cleaner cover on mine. MT

Thanks for the link CJ.
![]() I picked up some Dico polishing compound and a buffing wheel and man did it bring out the shine. Not chrome but not bad looking. ;)

Feels like more power and it sounds like a motorcycle should. Putt Putt has a nice growl now, can't wait to do the coaster, debaffle and tfi mods. As others have stated she's a little more cold blooded as I had to use the fast idle knob (choke?) to warm up a couple of minutes and then the idle seems a tad lower to my ear but no solenoid racket so all is good ![]() Great product Chuckster, I will order the coasters next week.

""With the chrome dog bowl you have to raise the back of the fuel tank with the spacers Chuckster provides with his kit and it stuck out just a little more than stock. ""
Been thinking about this for awhile and can't decide to do the air mod using Chucksters parts or some other system. What is the issue as stated above with having to use spacers to raise the back of the fuel tank? This is the first I've heard anyone comment on this. Is the issue the stock dog bowl fits higher using Chucksters parts? And if so how much higher do you have to raise the fuel tank to clear it. Does this interfere with the seat fitting correctly? |

I supply spacers/bolts to raise the rear of the tank. This is needed to make it clear the filter set-up, using the stock dog bowl I don't feel it sticks out anymore than before on my bike still have plenty of leg room... No adverse affects to the seat or tank doing this mod.
If you go the open route you don't need any spacers...... Chuckster, Thanks for the quick reply. About how thick are the spacers for the fuel tank? How much does it rise?

Nice job. There are several thing that can be used to fill the void between the jugs. Look on ebay. I bought my harley horn cover for $20.
