New Battery

My battery is pissed. Kaput! Load test confirmed. It's an 06 Nomad. 16-BS is the battery numbers. Local stealer wants $130. Seems steep to me and that is not even installed. I've got the battery out now. PIA to remove.

So where you guys buying your batteries at for good quality and cheap(er) prices?

Do you have Batteries Plus stores in your area? When I thought I needed a new battery, I found a decent Yuasa there for like $89.

Cactus Jack- I don't see New York with any stores from Battery Plus. Price sure was better.

I haven't done any price checking for you, but check out AutoZone, Napa, Advanced Auto Parts, any automotive store. You should be able to get one cheaper than the local dealer-stealer. Heck, you could even look at Wal-Mart for that matter.

While at Wally World, go ahead and get the Schumacher battery tender for $20. I just bought one since my battery was starting to wear down and I keep it hooked up while I'm not riding. Keeps the battery fully charged and ready to go.

Well No matter what you get , go buy the shumaker 1.25 amp anti sulfation auto float charger at walley world and hook up the pig tail to the battery and use it any time you are not parked at work or riding.

My 06 battery is still just fine, because it was maintained. (as new)

I plan to get no less than 8 years use of it. That little charger cost 20 bucks.

Here's what I ordered last week, they shipped priority mail and it arrived in a few days. $92 to my door. Haven't installed yet, but I've ordered from them before and the battery arrives fully charged and ready to go.

Sears has a Die Hard that fits the Nomad. I think the price will be around $80. I work at a K-Mart and we have some of the motorcycle batteries just not the one for the Nomad. But most Sears stores should have one.

Well the dealer stealer knocked off some cash-$95 out the door. Every where else I called had lesser quality batteries. I feel good giving some business to the local guy after he gave me a break.
