Trosco; I doubt youll see 20k on any bike tire. They just don't seem to last that long.
Clayton; If you havn't lubed the driveshaft in a while, now is the time to do it while the back wheel is off. Removing the rear wheel is the biggest part of that job. I use a moly based grease when I did mine, but any good quality grease will do the job just fine.

Tires
Claton, I have a radial 180/70R/16 on the rear of my '05 Nomad. I have had no problems with mixing bias and radial. My first stock Bridgestone lasted 8300 miles and I have replaced it twice since then with ME880's and I have 26,000 on the bike now. Will be going to the darkside for my next tire change. Would like to get a tire that would correct my 10% speedo error.... if I can find a tire size that will do it.

A 185/75-16 will correct most of the 10% error. It will probably fit without any modification.

Yellow Jacket, thanx for the info on the 10% error correction. I have only found one company with the 185/75/16, Vredstein I believe was the company. I was looking for the Continental Vanco 8 but seems it is only sold overseas. May have to settle for the Vresttein Comtrac if it will work.

Like on a current oil filter thread, got to go with what Trosco says here, a 160/80B E3 on the rear is doing well by me with about 3/16 left in the center after 8500 mi

Tires
Well tomorrow I'm having a pair of D404's installed. It seems like from everyones opinion that it's basically "to each their own". I think that I'm a conservative rider (at this time). So time will tell. Thanks all again for all your great views and opinions.
Perhaps Darkside may be a thing to consider next tire change.
