To make it my own

One of the reasons I went to a cruiser style MC is the fun of making it my own. To date I have painted the bottom of the windshield and lowers stained glass blue. Put speakers and amp on for my ipod tunes, cup holder, backrest, luggage rack and chap guards. I have ordered but not received the larger lowers from Edmonds. I also made a leather windshield bag to house the amp and Ipod. And it has all been good but it still doesn't look much different than it did on the showroom floor. But that will change. Tonight I took the first step in a process that I think will really put the bling on and say to one and all; This bike is mine. I am going to replace all the leather/vinyl with hand carved matching leather like the windshield bag. I may even make a portmanteu for the luggage rack. My intention is to post pictures of the various pieces as I get them done for all to see. I figure that by posting this and saying I will update it periodically I will be forced to keep at it. So stay tuned and lets see what happens. I have included a picture of a sheath I made for a knife made just to show what sort of design I am looking at. (first picture post. I hope it takes.)

That's what it's all about!
It's nice when people know your bike before they know you...

That will definitely make it unique. I don't think I've ever seen a nomad with a tan seat.

Happy tooling. I like that click to enlarge feature so I can see the details.

To make it my own

I took the cover off the driver seat back and last night figured out what I want to put on it. I think I am going to do silhouette of the various activities. The driver rest will be a kneeling archer. The Back rest will be a canoer and the seat will be my name and maybe something related to swordplay since I dabble in rapier and sword and shield. I am not planning on putting anything about motorcycling since if someone is looking at the carvings and can't figure out I ride, they are to stupid to talk to. anyway I guess I will find out if my abilities are up to my imagination.

Hopefully here are two pictures of my bike. I am very slowly making it my own. the grasshopper backrest has an archer on the front and a bow and quiver on the back. Next will be a new windshield bag and passenger backrest It came out pretty good. I will probably put my name or initials on the passenger backrest.

Okay here is the close up. you can see my arrows sticking up from their quiver. The longbow is the purple thing sticking out the back.
