Scootworks brake lever on 1600??

I don't like the cramped brake pedal position and am going to either order a Drifter level or buy the Scootworks, which although expensive looks like the best position to me. The Scootworks site lists it in one place as for the 1500 and in another place as fitting all Nomads. I have a 2008 Nomad 1600 and was wondering if anyone has installed the Scootworks brake lever on their 1600 and can confirm it fits, does not interfere with crash bars or ability to mount highway pegs?? Thanks.

Scootworks brake lever on 1600??

Creed,
I installed the Scootworks brake pedal on my '07. I like the heavy steel chromed shank, and the extension of it. The part that I don't care for is that the shank is straight and is positioned to the left side of the floorboard. The Drifter shank is more like the one on the bike, and has a couple of bends that puts the pedal more over center. At first, I felt that I way pointing my toe inward, toward the engine when trying to brake. I have since learned to use it ok and comfortably.

I have seen the Scootworks pedal on other years, and the floorboard mounting seems closer to the engine than on my bike making the pedal more centered.

Dolan.

From that picture, it looks like the Drifter might work better for me, I had not realized the Scootworks was so close in to the frame. And the Drifter is lesser money, I may just go with that after all.

Not sure this applies at all, but I run Kury hi way pegs and set them so I can heel the boards and toe the pegs which has my braking foot just even with the pedal.

The thing is I stand 5' 10" or so, and wear jeans with 32 /33 legs.

The effect is I can leave my heel where it is and slip my toes over fairly fast.

That particular body possistion is comforable to me..

Thanks Rich.. Yeah, I picked up that Drifter pedal ideal from your PM and gadget site, and earlier today did order both the lever and the pedal thru ronayers.com, I am about 6' tall with 34" inseam and needed more room. I ended up trading my Sabre 1100 with 36000 miles, parting out the xtras on the sabrehood site, and bought a leftover new 2008 blue/silver Nomad. I loved that bike, but the Nomad is a definite step up. :)
