Anyone with 03 nomad & Phat II risers?

After researching risers, I went with Phat II's. Every said they didn't have to relocate cables. Scootworks said the same. Guess what...front brakeline is too short! Relocated wires and cables & still too short! Just wondering if it just the 03's with this problem.

Thanks! Now that I have calmed down, I'll just chalk this up to my typical amatuer status as a "mechanic" and take it as an opportunity to learn more about my ride. I did buy this used, so it is possible that this isn't an original brake line. I'll just be glad when I can get it all back together and ride it. Sitting on it in my garage, it feels like the handle bars are in a much better position.

Your right. When the anger goes up it's time to walk away and cool off. Anger sure can make it worse then it is.

Ive got an '05 and Phat ll with NO problems with the cables. Scootworks even says you will have no prblems with the Nomad.

ditto. 2005 Nomad & Phat II's with no problems. Well, that's not completely true. I had to get a tap and clean out the threads first before they would mount properly. But, once that was done, they fit perfectly with no relocation or replacement of cables.

Doc, same question I asked fireman68.
How much rise and how much pull back are the risers you installed?

Fireman68, I have a '03 with Phat IIs, and know one other guy with same.. neither of us had any problem. Just had to cut a few cable ties and pull them thru a little.

Perhaps its as you said.. not original brake lines ?

Cheers,
Brian

Well I got the longer brake hose installed and everything back together. I only got to go for a short ride before the weather turned bad, but my initial impression is that it was well worth the effort! I can actually "lean" against my back rest now. Much more relaxed riding position. Still not sure what the deal was with the brake hose other than maybe not stock, but all the other cables were fine. I could even keep them wire tied to the handle bars. Even with the small "glitch" on my bike, I would highly recommend the Phats II's.

The first time I rode my bike with the risers installed it felt a little strange to me, and I (not the bike) felt a little wobbly, like I couldn't control it as I had without them. That didn't last long though, and now I'm amazed I went as long as I did without installing them. I'm seated back all the way, my arms don't get tired, I'm just leisurely cruising around the way God intended it to be.

A few weeks ago I took the bike up to East Texas, to Kilgore, to take my mother to lunch for her birthday. I went up and back in the same day, which is around 400+ miles, and my arms never bother me. I'm not sure I could have made it the old way, leaning forward slightly and down. The Phat II's are just great. Riding that far, however, immediately convinced me that buying a Mustang Seat was the next thing to do.
