When putting on Kuryakyn Iso Grips...

I've seen some posts in the past about the glue coming from Kuryakyn not being good enough, or coming dried, some people suggested Gorilla Glue instead. But in the past (for other motorcycles), I've been told that just using hair spray is good enough. Is there a reason stronger glue is needed for the Kuryakyn grips?
