Cam chain tensioner spring...

This past Friday, a friend of mine took his Nomad in to the Kawa dealer here in Tyler, Texas to have a set of cam chain extenders installed. He always noticed his motor having that "sewing machine" sound and prearranged the install with the dealer. The dealer agreed that he probably needed the extenders.

When the mechanic took off the tensioner cap on the back head and pulled the cap and spring out, they noticed that the spring had been installed bent at the top from the factory. This was what was causing his clicking sound. Now his motor sounds normal. They didn't install the extenders.

Oh, and BTW, this happened on a 2008 Nomad.

The following pic is blurry, but it is an actual pic of the spring after being pulled. This is probably an isolated incident.
