well I have V&H on my 1600 classic and I love em, they are loud but not obnoxious. my wife wants them a little louder to be quite honest with you. my pipes only have one small baffle in the end but they do the job

Love my v&h's, I heard the cobras and they are pretty nice too. Look up YouTube videos, both sounds are online.

the only problem with youtube is if its not recorded on a quality device the sound sucks and doesn't do it any justice. with everyone on here v&h is the pure winner and there made in the usa to boot.

You're right Ron, it's hard to tell on some recordings... Nothing beats hearing them for real.

Are you aware of the quality issues V&H have had with their pipes for the Vulcans ?
Header pipes cracking on the rear cylinder ? |

with no baffle at all sounds like pure shit and the cracking issue is an installation problem that can be avoided

its very easy, take out the baffle, its 10in long or so, it a tube right ! take a band saw or hack saw and cut the center portion out that contain all the perforations and weld the two halves back together.put them in a piece of channel iron during the welding process so they wont draw out of square. now its typically a solid tube from end to end. install in the bike and enjoy.

Yes, but it was my understanding that they were poorly installed. You need to tighten a of the clamps after everything is bolted on otherwise there could be too much tension on the crossover pipe if they are not perfectly straight.

ive heard of the pipes cracking on the back head pipe, but ive had no issues with mine and have 36,000 miles on em and I just changed the exhaust gasket. the only issue ive had with mine are the heat shield clamps breaking, I just removed the exhaust last week , changed every clamp with stainless steel clamps, new gaskets and no cracks or problems. after the first heat cycle make sure the flange bolts are tight and should have no problems at all. V&H rules.
