Final Drive

Hi,

I just did my first rear tire change went with a Metzler 880, 180/70/16.

I used a chain hoist to lift the rear end of the bike up, just wrapped a chain around the top mounts of the saddle bag guards, it worked realy slick. I have access to a lift, but was nervous about the stability.

My question is: after putting it all back together and riding for 10 miles or so, I came back home and looked at the rear end to make sure everything looked OK. I did notice that the final drive gear case is warm to the touch. Is this normal, not hot, but warm. I am worried that I may have done something wrong.

It all went back together easily, and I didn't have any parts left over.

Do me a favor to ease my mind, after riding a few miles check your rear drive case and tell me if yours is warm to the touch.

I will be taking a trip to western Wyoming Leaving on June 18 for a week, I don't want any trouble.

Thanks in advance,
Terbear
