I thinks it's KAMS and it stands for Kawasaki Air Management System. It was Kaw's answer to the owners that complained their Voyager was too hot.

This is one of the times Kawi stepped up to the plate, the price they are asking for it is very fair and if the customer is mechanically inclined, and can follow very well laid out instructions, you can install it in about 4 hours, the longest part is the rad and front area, the rear blower is about 1 hour it that. I put one on and the difference is very noticeable. One misconception is that the heat comes off the rear cylinder, it doesn't, the majority of the heat comes off the rear exhaust pipe. The rear design traps that heat under the front part of the riders seat and transfers a lot back to the passengers thigh area. I also installed the "wings" that go under the seat at the front, I don't even notice the heat now.

leather versus aluminium, not sure if the leather would last as long before it cracks. I got mine because buddy was selling for $80 and he lived close by. Might be worth while trying though.
