Windshield modification
Just want to share what I did to save on my aggravation.
The Nomad windshield has a "sub" windshield that is designed to slide down as you raise the main shield. I'm 6'4 and I've always liked mine at the lowest setting. I've found that debris, dirt, and bugs get between the two shields and it's a nightmare to clean. Taking the windshield apart is about the only good way, and let's face it, Kawasaki spared NO parts in the windshield hardware. Must be about 20 different nuts, bolts, rubber spacer etc. I simply removed the sub shield and cut (jigsaw) two spacers from it, keeping the original length but only wide enough to fit behind the chrome bracket, to retain the stock mounting hardware. I now can clean both sides of the shield to a sparkling luster with no headaches. Hope maybe this gives a few of you some ideas. I now have "one" piece of windshield Login or Register to Remove Ads |
