De-baffle Question .........

I thought I might post it here as well. I'm hoping for responses. Sorry if I'm wrong :-/

It doesn't appear to difficult (even a caveman could do it ;) ). I am considering it, but I have some concerns.

1.
I have not heard one that has been de-baffled, but I did hear a Suzuki C50. It did sound deeper but it also sounded like it had an exhaust leak, kind of airy. Does the 1600 sound that way?

2.
I have also read that it can damage the engine long term (lack of back pressure?)

3.
For those of you who have done it, would you do it again? I've noticed many who do it eventually go to after market exhaust.

Thanks on advance for your input!
