*** Help With Donation for Chuck's Family - UPDATE

Update: 7/24/2008 2:30PM, CDT

I talked with Chuck's sister, Judy Harrelson by cell phone just a moment ago. She, as well as the rest of the family are on the road driving from NC to Texas as we speak for Chuck's funeral. I let her know that KawaNOW, as well as the TexasVROC have collected donations to help the family with their travel expenses and any other expenses to try and ease the burden of the expense.

She began to tell me how appreciative she and the rest of the family were in helping them financially through this family crisis. As she began to cry, she wanted to me to thank everyone for their help.

We will be collecting donations through the paypal account at www.kawanow.org/memoriam.htm and through the mail at my PO Box until Sunday night. Monday morning, everything that has been collected will be given to the family on Monday and Tuesday to help all of them with hotel expenses, travel expenses and expenses to ship Chuck's body back to North Carolina.

You guys are wonderful. Judy thanks you from the bottom of her heart.

WOW! You guys are great! Just got off the phone with Jeff (SWB). Donations have exceeded the $1,200.00 amount!!! This money will help Chuck's family greatly in getting here for the funeral. From the bottom of my heart, I thank each of you!

Update: 7/23/2008 8:00PM, CDT

Today, I found out that Chuck's two children are going to have problems getting to the funeral due to the cost of traveling. One lives in North Carolina, the other in Idaho. It was suggested that, in leiu of flowers, all the money that we collect in the paypal account and checks that are sent in WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE FAMILY to help defray costs.

Also, I talked with Mark Ginsel of the Texas VROC this afternoon. All the TexasVROC members there are going to log in on our paypal page and donate or send in checks. We will pool or money and present it to the family.

I want to say a big "thank you" to all of you who have donated so far. You are the greatest!
