Cookie, The Plattsburgh crossing has a great road rte.2 to ride on your way south to the Burlington area.
Port Kent crossing is the best ride across the lake, beautiful to see the Green Mountains as a backdrop to the Burlington Waterfront. A little more expensive then the other crossings. The Killington Classic is this weekend. http://www.motorcycle-vermont.com/ev...-classic-2013/ The New England Riders have this site with towns and roads to ride. http://www.newenglandriders.org/grea...ycle_rides.htm I hope you have a great time, let me know if I can help with more.

Cookie you could pick up ret.15 off of rte.2 (or 2A not sure) in Essex and ride east to rte.108 south and ride through the breathtaking Smugglers Notch into Stowe. Then take rte.100 south to rte.17 west to rte.7 south to rte.125 east to rte.100 south to rte.73 west to rte.7 south into Rutland and then rte.4 west to Killington. This is called running the gap roads in Vt. Great motorcycle roads, pay attention to the signs, if it says 15 mph be careful!
Cold Hollow Cider Mill (if they have fresh and hot cider donuts they are awesome) and Ben & Jerry's (you like ice cream right) are on rte.100 between Stowe and Waterbury, both are worth a visit.

Cookie, did you take any photos? Did you do any of the roads I suggested? Hoping you can post some photos and tell us about your trip.

Cookie came through here with some friends on Labor Day weekend. I'm wondering if they had a good time on the roads, and if they enjoyed the rally.
