Remain VERY AWARE of the Heat when you drop south of Colorado
One summer I dropped off the 7000 ft area near the Grand Canyon..east bound toward Cortez, Colo. The temp went from 75 degrees on top, in about 10 miles..to 114 degrees (measured in the shade--and there is no shade on the hiway) With a 40 mph cross wind from the south...And it stayed that way all the way across ..it was HELL, I stopped at Every wide spot gas station/store and drank a quart of Gatoraid...and never had to piss all day long ! |
