Any Ideas On How TO Not Get Ran Over?

Today I was coming home from work. I'm in the military and wear the ABU camo uniform but wear a brightly colored vest over it while riding a Black Nomad. I also had a full length lime green vest over my rear riggs pack tour bag on the back rest. 3 different times on the way home today some dummies almost ran over me. They were on the cell phone or either just didn't care but all squeezed right in my "safe zone" in front of me cutting me off. I try to allow enough room to react but you can't hang back too far because of the idiots. I'm almost to the point of carrying a readily accesible handfull of ball bearings to bounce off their back window! Do you ever have these problems?
