New Bluetooth communicators
We have had a Cardio Scala system for nearly 10 years now. In the last year the sound has become fuzzy and it took more effort to talk when riding. Almost had to scream at it for it to connect to talk. Just bought a Sena SMH5-fm dual system. Impressed with it so far. Sound is clear. We take it for our first big ride next week and we will see how it works.

We have the SMH-10. I don't know what the differences are.
I've been pleased with ours. Works good at a 1/4 mile or less if line of sight is good.

I've got a Whistler BT3300 which has done very well for 8 years. Got for an introductory price of $99 at Cycle Gear. Then the price went up to $250, so I got a really good deal! Unfortunately, they don't make 'em anymore.
I'll be looking for a new one soon. |

I bought a Sena 20s and have been really impressed by it. It lets me listen to music in the background while intercomming with other riders, and I've even thrown in the GPS to talk over all of it. I use it mainly for music & to let my wife know I'm still alive lol, all the stuff added together is overload (I ride to get away from it all, right?), but it's nice to know it's capable.
During phone calls, people can't even tell I'm on a bike (with a FF helmet). Have only tried one call with my new 1/2 helmet, but my wife said she couldn't tell a difference either. |
