Gotta love the way they slipped the marijuana in there. Dude was probably bat shit crazy before any of that. Now it is a budget problem.. once again no one will take responsibility. I am staunchly against frivolous lawsuits but this woman's family has a case.

Marijuana has nothing to do with what happened. Might as well leave that out of the mix altogether. Just news trying to kick it up a notch.
15 minute response time to a dv is absolutely obsurd. Someone must have been " On Their Union Break". Been on the job way too long and lost concern for their job duties maybe. It's called " Dereliction of Duty". Unless every other unit was tied up on another domestic call or felony stop, I don't think any jurisdiction places units in an area that large by themselves. 9:30 pm is one of the busiest times of the day for law enforcement in my area. This means more calls which takes up more of the officers time but also we have a lot more cars and officers on the street at those times for that reason. I would love to hear more on the outcome of this case and the internal investigation that is sure to result. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

What is this, Reefer Madness? Pot doesn't make you aggressive. The guy was probably nuttier than squirrel turds in the first place.

Good example of police don't prevent crime, they investigate after the fact. Unforunently in this case someone had to die to get they're attention. Emphasizes why you need to be prepared to protect yourself, loved ones and property. Don't count on the establishment being there when needed to do it for you.

The article probably should have said "he ate some pot"... This guy clearly was a nut-job; and it is very disturbing the police response was so slow. A bad situation and truly sad for the children.

It is sad that someone lost their life, it does seem like a long time for the police to actually arrive at the home. Three years ago my grndaughter used my phone as a calculator. Dialed 911, the policeman was on his lunch break at the police station, (one and half miles away), he drove up here and hid in the bushes for a while, trying hear if there was any sounds of violence. He finally came to the door, wife answered and the questions started. According to the report it took him 20 minutes to arrive at my home. And a few minutes before he knocked on the door. We live in a rural area and it is not uncommon for our one or two officers to be cruising the malls and such. We know that it takes them time to get from one side of town to the other. In our case that wasn't the reason. Going to a 911hang-up call at a home that has a crazy man living in it, must have been scary, he is a very brave officer. Always be prepared to protect your loved ones, yourself and property.
Now about those brownies, is there free shipping?

I don't think anyone was beating up on the cops here. I don't think we as citizens have an expectation that law enforcement is at our beck and call. Law enforcement has their hands full and morons calling 911 because KFC didn't put the potatoes and gravy in their bucket of chicken exacerbates the problem.
Simply, the police can't prevent all crimes, they can't respond to all calls in a timely manner. It is physically impossible. Citizens need to be able to protect themselves. Certain politicians would like nothing more than to take that ability away from us.
