Bolt tightening
You know how you should regularly check to make sure no bolts or nuts have vibrated loose? (Yea, Bob, I sure do!)
In addition to the normal fenders, risers, triple trees, etc., there's one more bolt to check. If you have Kuryakin ISO-footpegs--the wide flat version -- check the pivot bolt (the one that you shouldn't over-tighten). Yesterday, cruising at hi-way speed, I felt a slight bump against the toe of my boot. Not having noticed anything the front tire could have thrown up, I looked down to notice that my right peg was missing. (Traffic volume made retrieval impractical) It looks like replacements come in pairs -- Anybody have a right peg on the shelf? Or need a left peg and want to go halvsies?

The bolt that holds my air filter on always worked it way loose, Ive lost it a couple times in the past. Now I know to use loctite each time I remove it and keep my eye on it. The knobs that hold my seat on also tend to work themselves loose regularly, Ive replaced them a couple times also. After a while you learn to check certain bolts, its easier than replacing them.

I have had the center bolt (the long one with the socket head) work loose on both my Kuryakyn ISO pegs. I thought I was going to lose one at 75 MPH. I can only imagine what a projectile like that might do to a car following me.
Luckily I didn't and both have been Loctited to prevent it from happening again.

You talking about the Dualy ISO's? ![]() If so, I just so happen to have a right peg - no bolt, no shim, but in perfect, unused condition. I picked up a replacement bolt from Home Depot. Split the cost of new, say $25? ...and pay for shipping, and it's yours.

Ya gotta love this forum.
A guy in TX has a new part that a guy in MD needs. That's got to make Trip proud ![]()

I guess I should have asked before we closed the deal: It's not any bigger since it's coming from TX, is it? It will fit in MD?

Just got a call from home. Your package is on it's way via USPS 3-day priority. Let me know you got it okay.

Couple of lessons-learned:
1) Blue Locktite is your friend 2) Title the part of the arm holding the peg on head-up, so if the bolt comes all the way loose, it won't fall out.
